Ransom District Library, the Plainwell Community Center, and City Parks are all important resources to Plainwell’s community, each contributing to the viability of the City of a variety of ways. Recreational land uses includes seven developed parks all of which offer a variety of recreational activities: Fannie Pell Park, Hicks Park, Thurl Cook Park, Sherwood Park, Kenyon Recreation Park/Softball Facility, the Riverwalk Park and Darrow Park.

• Historic Homes Tour: First Saturday in December
• Pumpkins in the Park: An event for the whole family, costume contests and more on the Third Saturday in October in Hicks Park
• Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and Parade: First weekend in December
• Plainwell Art Hop: Third Friday in February from 5 pm to 10 pm
