The Plainwell Memorial Post 9377 Veterans of Foreign Wars is creating a veterans' memorial at the north end of Fannie Pell Park entitled "The Greater Plainwell Veterans' Memorial." A fundamental part of the memorial will be a paved area in front of the monument using commemorative paving bricks to honor veterans from any era who have served in any branch of America's armed forces, during wartime or peacetime, overseas or stateside, local resident or not. Each brick will be engraved with the veteran's name and other information regarding his or her service. The bricks are on sale now to the general public. The standard price is $50.00 each, which will allow three lines of 14 characters each. Bricks are also available at $57.50 each, which will allow three lines of 18 characters each.
