Thanks to your generosity, the City met its fundraising goal to keep the fireworks going at the Airport July 4, 2011! The rain date will be Saturday, July 9th. Large sponsors from JBS Packerland, Rhino's Hometown Pub, and Timothy Hutchens combined with other smaller contributions are helping us “Bring Back the Fourth!”
As you may or may not know, due to budget constraints, the City of Plainwell eliminated the fireworks from its budget. We therefore embarked on a grassroots fundraising campaign to raise money to keep the fireworks going this Fourth of July. With the help of the generous sponsors, we raised $5,000, and change collected at several merchants will be saved in an account for next year. Due to dwindling resources, the City of Plainwell is grateful for all donations large or small. We thank you for your kindness and are looking forward to this Fourth of July.
