The City of Plainwell is conveniently located between Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids along U.S. 131. Plainwell is known as the “Island City” because in order to enter the downtown from any direction you will cross the Kalamazoo River.

The City offers a variety of services that include a Brownfield Redevelopment Program, assistance with site selection, permitting and applying for tax abatements.
