This event is part of our Winter Concert Series, and in celebration of Plainwell's Sesquicentennial Celebration. Please join us for "Music from 150 Years Ago", and enjoy the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra's Burdick-Thorne String Quartet as they play music that was around when the City of Plainwell (Plainfield) was first established. This event is partially sponsored by the Michigan Humanities Council and the Michigan Council for Arts and Community Affairs.

Plainwell Art Hop - 2019
City Hall Chambers will be open displaying photos and articles on the history of the Plainwell Paper Mill, plus a Sesquicentennial Quilt will be on display, that will be raffled off during Plainwell Days Festival.

Paper Making with the Kalamazoo Book Arts
Participate in making your own paper, similar to the way the Plainwell Paper Mill made paper back in the 1800's. The Plainwell Paper Mill was started in 1872 and was the principal industry of the town. Interact and listen to a few of the former employees talk about their experience at the Plainwell Paper Mill.
